A loft here means one space with two heights
A typical two-level unit has two closed-off levels, one above the other. Room D at Shinsai Wings is double-height: the upper level covers only part of the lower one, leaving the middle open, so from below you can look up to the upper level, and from above you can look down.
What that means in practice: a group can spread across two heights and still be in one space. Some chat on the lower level, someone lies on the upper level scrolling a phone; you can hear each other and everyone has room. A single-level room can't do that.

1. The shot looking up
As the camera tilts up from the lower level, you see the full vertical height of the room type. It's the only room type in the building with this sense of space.
2. The private bathroom and bathtub
This room type has its own private bathroom, with a bathtub. That's true throughout the building (every room type has its own private bathroom, and all include a bathtub), so showers and long soaks both happen inside your own space.
3. It's an independent room-type unit
Room D is its own independent room-type unit, just like Room B and C. Close the door and this room type is yours alone.
