1. What we don't collect
This site has no member accounts and no message board. You don't need to give us any information to browse it, and browsing never asks for your name or phone number; if you use the "Book & get a quote" window below to pick a room and dates, those choices stay in your own browser. Booking inquiries go through our official LINE or, on the English pages, the email inquiry form described below — whatever you tell us through LINE reaches us inside that LINE conversation, not on this website.
The site also has a few other contact windows. Here is exactly what each one does:
- The "Booking Inquiry" email window (on the homepage): the subject and message you type are not sent to this website's server. Pressing send only carries the text into the email app on your own computer or phone, where you check it and send it yourself. Once it arrives, that email stays in our inbox like any other message and is used only to reply to your stay inquiry.
- The "WeChat Contact" window: it only displays our WeChat ID for you to copy and collects nothing.
- The "Book & get a quote" window (inside the "Availability · Book" button): the room, check-in and check-out dates and number of guests you pick are put together into a message only in your own browser; they are not sent to this website's server, and this site does not store them. Tapping "Send to the host on LINE" opens our official LINE with that message filled in, and you check it and tap send yourself; from then on, the message reaches us inside the LINE conversation. The calendar flags in the window are public data your browser reads from this site, and none of your choices are attached when it does.

The English email inquiry form (the "Email Inquiry" button on English pages): unlike the email window above,
what you enter in this form is sent to and stored on this website's own server (run on Cloudflare).
It contains the fields you fill in — check-in date, party size, length of stay, purpose of stay, email address and an optional message —
plus three things added automatically: the page you sent it from, the ad-source tags in the link you arrived by (such as
utm_sourceorgclid), and the country that Cloudflare estimates from your network address. To keep those ad-source tags if you browse a few more pages before sending, the form saves them in your browser's session storage (not a cookie), which is cleared when you close the tab. We use what you send to reply to your inquiry by email and to keep a record of that inquiry.
2. What we do collect: anonymous usage statistics
This site uses Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-NJBTDP56R0). It records:
- Which pages you view, how long you stay, and which page you move to next
- Where you came from (search engines, Facebook, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, ad links and so on)
- Device type (phone / computer), browser, screen size and language
- Your approximate region as estimated by Google from your network address (down to country / city level, not your address)
- Whether you tapped a LINE button on the site — we only record "which kind of button in which position was tapped," not who tapped it
- Whether you used the "Book & get a quote" window — we only record the categories of your choices: room type (A / B / C / D / whole house), number of nights, number of guests, quote type, whether the calendar showed any flagged days, and how you sent it to the host (LINE / copy message / add friend). Your dates of stay, the message text and any personal information are not sent
These statistics show overall trends and are not used to identify individual visitors. We can see that "30 people read the Universal Studios guide this week," but not who those 30 people are.
3. Which cookies are written
_ga— distinguishes one browser from another, so that the same person coming back isn't counted as two people. Google sets it to expire after 2 years._ga_NJBTDP56R0— remembers the current browsing session. Google sets it to expire after 2 years.
These two cookies are written by Google's code, not by us, and we can't read what's inside them. Apart from these, this site writes no other cookies (no ad-tracking cookies and no third-party pixels).
4. Where the data goes
To Google; the actual receiving domains are www.google-analytics.com and www.google.com.
Google processes the data under its own privacy policy; all we see is the aggregated numbers in the Google Analytics reports.
In addition, when your browser opens this site it loads files from fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com (fonts),
and from cdn.tailwindcss.com and cdnjs.cloudflare.com (styles and icons) —
these services see your network address when the files load, as is the case for any website that uses a CDN.
Once you tap a LINE button, or open a Facebook / Instagram / Threads link and leave this site,
those platforms' own privacy policies apply from that point on.
5. Why we collect it
For one purpose only: to know which content actually helps travelers coming to Osaka. We've written stay guides and posted over a hundred real photos; without the numbers, we'd have no idea which guide people read to the end or which set of photos people keep looking through. The statistics tell us what kind of guide to write more of, and which page needs rewriting to be clearer. The statistics are not resold for advertising, not used to build contact lists, and not handed to marketing companies.
We currently have no ad conversion tracking enabled (no Google Ads conversion tag is set up). If we ever turn it on, we'll come back and update this page.
6. One extra step we deliberately take
Web addresses sometimes carry text along with them. To keep that text from being sent to Google as well,
this site's tracking code strips the parameters from the address before sending it, keeping only ad-source tags (such as utm_source and gclid),
and drops everything after the # in the address entirely.
No law requires this — it's a safeguard we added ourselves, so that "what users type never flows into the analytics tool" is guaranteed by code rather than by someone remembering to be careful.
7. How you can opt out
If you'd rather not be counted, any of the following works — and none of them will stop you from browsing the site or contacting us:
- Install Google's official opt-out add-on — tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout (for desktop browsers such as Chrome, Edge and Firefox; once installed, it works on every site that uses GA)
- Block cookies in your browser settings, or block "third-party / cross-site tracking" (built into Safari and Firefox)
- Use an incognito / private browsing window — the cookies are cleared when you close the window
- Use a content- or tracker-blocking browser extension — these tools usually block the Google Analytics code outright
- Delete the cookies manually — just clear this site's data in your browser settings
This site has no "agree to continue" pop-up. Rather than stopping people at the door to click "I agree," we think it's better to write down clearly what we actually do and let you decide for yourself whether to block it.
